Fun at the Miami Dade Youth Fair

Posted by Hannah Isaacs on

Filled with passion, connection, and ambition, the Miami Dade County Youth Fair miraculously showcased a display of young riders with compelling horses that had the opportunity to show off to various judges. One of those judges was our CEO, Emily Delgado. Sporting the gorgeous Blush and Gold Mesh Embellished Show Top Emily sat proudly at the judge’s table representing her hometown and title Miss Rodeo Homestead Queen 2024.

Below Emily accounts for how it felt to be a judge, and how the experience was impactful for her:

As I hold the crown of rodeo queen it was truly an honor to be a judge for the event. As someone who has been to a myriad of showmanship events it was a completely different outlook than from the casual observer to being part of the points each individual obtained. You give a completely different focus to each contestant and experience a stress of assuring that the points were accurate for each contestant. It made me appreciate more what judges experience in any competition or event.

Replicated as an actual barn, we got to observe the community’s cows, chickens, roosters, gerbils, and bunnies. The most show-stopping creatures were the horses of course, standing as regal and classy as ever. This event was prepared by the South Florida Trail Riders, a nonprofit, all-volunteer horse riding organization made up of family, single, and youth members. The horse showing displayed a wide variety of big, small, tan, brown, and spotted horses that have an array of beautiful personalities and characteristics about them. The Miami Dade County in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Youth Fair showcases the artistic, academic and athletic talents of more than 37,000+ public, charter, private and home school students through competition and exhibition to more than half a million visitors.

Our youth is an extremely important part of our world, which is why this event was exponentially impactful. The fact this goes on every year is why everyone should experience this fair at least once!
